Nature and Travel videos
'Hidden Landscapes' is a study of the effects of industrialization on what appear to be untouched, wild landscapes. I look for what is seen and unseen. What is natural and unnatural. The before and after. I look for spaces that appear unspoiled by human hands, only to have that space radically shift due to the unforeseen presence of vehicles cutting into view. I believe there’s a balance between what we encourage to be left untouched and what the realities of the modern era require.
This project includes over a year’s worth of footage from four states. Finding ideal locations was a challenge due to the strict demands of this project, including road access, necessary elevation changes, and the absence of road markers. National and state parks proved to be the best locations due to protected wilderness efforts.
5,000 miles on the road, 7 national parks, and a lot of memories. It's been about six years since I did any significant documentation of our family travels, but with plans this lofty I knew I had to shoot just a little bit. We experienced a lot of beautiful things but we especially loved getting to see a lot of family and friends on the way.

Emily and I spent some time in the Pacific Northwest. As we explored the coast with hardly another soul in sight, we imagined how Lewis and Clark must've felt. It felt like our personal coast, and it quickly became one of our favorite places.
